Lotion bars were the first product I came across in which I felt should have been created a long time ago. I looked through formulations online, and discovered different method and ways of creating them with different types of wax.
After experimenting I created my own recipes and they are still almost the same a few years later with only a few changes. People love these bars because they work on dry skin and are not greasy. If you are someone who uses your hands a lot when working or washes your hands a lot (which is everyone right now and especially with Covid) then you will benefit from a lotion bar. Chantic offers a one currently but we are looking to expend into other scents & Shapes.

They are super moisturizing. These bars are a solid concentration of quick-absorbing oils and butters that protect your skin. This combination of oils, butters, and beeswax seal in moisture instead of letting it escape which is called trans-dermal water loss or TWL. Someone once described these lotion bars as Chapstick for your hands which is the perfect description. Some of us have such chapped hands that we need intense protection to help seal the skin cracks back up.

They are resource friendly. There is no water in Lotion bars. This makes them resource friendly as the world works to conserve its limited water better and more resourcefully. Additionally, rather than coming in disposable packaging, Lotion bars can come in paper, hessian bag or tin.

They are very portable. They are quite easy to pop in your purse, the car, your suitcase, or in a tote for on the go use. The beeswax in them has a high melting point, so it takes temps well over a hundred degrees for these to melt. Lotion bars also do not take up much room.

Lotion Bars are a clean beauty product. Some places make lotion bars with vegetable products like sunflower oil, Shea butter, and coconut oil. Additionally, the fragrances used are paraben and phthalate free. And lastly, these have no preservatives because they do not have water. Water creates a breeding ground for mould. Lotion bars are anhydrous which means they have no water and therefore, don’t need a preservative. This is not to imply preservatives are bad; it just helps keep things cleaner to reduce usage.

They are long lasting. Lotion Bars are concentrated, so a little goes a long way. It takes me a year to go through one although everyone will have a different rate of usage. In any case, it will take you a while to use one. This makes it a good value.
