How to Get Candle Wax Out of a Glass

Candle wax can be a tricky substance to remove from glass, but with the right techniques, it can be done without damaging the glass. Here are a few methods you can try:

1. Freezing Method:

  • Place the glass in the freezer for a few hours. The wax will contract and become brittle.
  • Once the wax is frozen, you should be able to easily pop it out of the glass.

2. Hot Water Method:

  • Fill the glass with hot water and let it soak for a few minutes.
  • The hot water will melt the wax, making it easier to remove.
  • Once the wax is melted, pour out the hot water and gently wipe away the remaining wax with a paper towel.

3. Rubbing Alcohol Method:

  • Soak a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol.
  • Wipe the inside of the glass with the cotton ball.
  • The rubbing alcohol will dissolve the wax.
  • Wipe away any remaining wax with a clean cloth.

4. Hairdryer Method:

  • Use a hairdryer to heat the wax.
  • The heat will melt the wax, making it easier to remove.
  • Once the wax is melted, wipe it away with a paper towel.

Additional Tips:

  • If the wax is stubborn, you can try using a butter knife or other blunt object to gently scrape it away.
  • Be careful not to scratch the glass.
  • If you are having trouble removing the wax, you can try using a commercial wax remover.

Here are some additional tips for preventing wax buildup in your glass:

  • Use a candle ring to protect your surfaces from wax drips.
  • Trim your wicks regularly to prevent excessive dripping.
  • Place candles on a heat-resistant surface.

I hope this helps!
